Slip and Grip is a technique we use when we have a horse that might spook and bolt or pull on the line at speed. Instead of immediately gripping our rope, and accidentally pulling our horses on top of us, we use this technique to let the rope SLIP through our hands, and then GRIP once we get to the end of the line.
