DYSREGULATION AROUND TOUCH
LIFE SKILLS & DAILY HANDLING
•
9m 29s
Mia shares what she does when horses "drop out" during handling or training because of over arousal.
In Zeppy's case he finds touch extremely stimulating, and has even reared and jumped on top of humans before! This is very different from a relaxed dropping out that you might see whilst grooming or when your horse is processing or relaxing, when taking into account the bigger picture of Zeppy's behaviour and body language.
Mia demonstrates how she uses backing up until the "train goes back in the station."
